Today 13th of October is a rather sad date for fans of Bollywood music. It was on this date in 1987 that we lost a gem of the industry to “KAAL”. Its 30 years already and we are yet to find an entertainer like him. We still don’t have a singer, actor (brilliant in comedy), composer, song-writer, and finally a producer-director like him. The song under discussion today is from film ‘Sharada’, one of the hit films of 1957. What a year 1957 was ! In the Golden Era of the Hindi Film Music, the year 1957 would go down as the best year, which provided everlasting songs from musical films. The deluge of excellent songs was such that music lovers not only enjoyed the heavy downpour, but loved every piece of Music.

Today (15 august 2017) is the 71st Independence day of India.
This is the tenth independence day for the blog. In addition, we have also had nine republic days. We have discussed a few patriotic songs on all these 17 national days. So one can imagine the number of patriotic songs that we have covered in the blog so far. The count of patriotic songs in the blog shows 106 songs as of now !

Today is 1st August 2017 – the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Dada. He would have been 104. Phew! Whatever I know of Bhagwan Dada or Bhagwan is all hearsay and whatever I have read up on the various sites on the net.
