Shammi Kapoor’s era lasted for the entire 1960s and “Prince” could well be called his last successful movie. His two subsequent movies as a hero (“Pagla Kahin Ka” and “Jawaan Mohabbat” did not do well).

Like what was the case in his earlier movies viz “Aawaara” and “Chhaliyya”, this song from “Aashiq” serves as an introduction song as well, where the hero inroduces himself as the “Aashiq” and describes in good detail what are the things for which he is the “aashiq” (lover)

Here is a song which I remember listening to in my younger days, though I never could find out those days which movie this song was from. That is how it was with loudspeaker songs those days. Unlike radio songs, they would not announce the name of the movie before playing such songs. 😉
