Lata Mangeshkar who first sang in a Marathi film ‘Gajabhau’ (1944), is still continuing to sing for Hindi films albeit very sparingly. As per http://www.myswar.com, she sang a solo song for the film ‘Dunno No Y2 Life is a Moment’ (2015). That gives her playback career a span of over 7 decades – a world record, I guess, in playback singing for films. In fact, she sang for 46 films between 2000-2015. I thought why not do a similar exercise for Talat Mehmood.

“Bindiya” (1955) was a Film Asia Production movie. It was directed by Shamim Bhagat. The movie had Shakuntala, Shekhar, Sulochana, Kumkum, Leela Mishra etc in it.
