Karva chauth is a festival mainly associated with womenfolk, and as a result it is often forgotten by men. It is similar to men forgetting their wedding anniversaries, wife’s birthday etc. What does one do, when one realises this fact late ? One hurries up to make amends. And that is what I am trying to do just now. I have realised late that today is Karwa chauth festival, and so at this late hour, I am trying to push through some karwa chauth festival songs. 
Prakashchandra, to his credit, remembered this festival and he had sent me lyrics of two songs for the occasion. And that is what is coming to my rescue at this moment. I have just discussed one of them, and here is the other one.
This song is from a movie appropriately named “Maang Bharo Sajna” (1980), which had Jeetendra and two women (Rekha and Mausami Chatterji) staking claims on him, if the posters of this movie are anything to go by.
I would have loved to watch the video of this song, but that does not seem to be available. For that matter, even the audio of this movie was not available on YT. with time runnning out, desperate situation needed desperate measures and now at least the audio of this song is available to go with this article.
PS-Now I have been able to locate the video also, and as I suspected, the song is actually picturised on Rekha and Mausami Chatterji.
Here is this song which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Lata and it is picturised on Rekha and Mausami Chatterji and other women, all observing karva chauth no doubt.

In fact I didn`t know that the karwa chauth festival is on today, But Amitji(Bachchan saab)apne Kaun banega crorepati programme(thursday ko) ke end mein karwa chauth ke badhaayeeyaan de rahe the, desh ki jantha ko.
Tab jaake Main Atulji ko iss festival ke baare mein gaane ka lyrics bhejna hai bolke , bahut jaldhi mein likh bheja
so the credit should go to amitji my favourite.
Ghar mein jab main iss movie dekhne (shaayad main 6th standard mein tha)ka roke ,zid karke, ek baarish ke din, paaswaale ghar ke didi ke saath chala gaya tha, movie already shuru ho gayee thi. But uss time mein ye movie mujhe bahut pasand aaya tha,woh bhi jeethuji,moushumiji aur rekhji ke acting chemistry.
(hamaare parents ka sakth paabandi tha, movie dekhne ke maamle mein. Only Amitji ka movies hamein dekhne ke liye allowed tha-(iss movie mein rekhaji aur jeethuji ke ek intimate scene hai-isee liye shaayad mummy ne mana kiya hoga)

In other words, neither Prakashji nor Atulji fasted today to keep their wives company, am I right? Then the wives should get an extra big gift for their devotion!
I had better get out of here before Atul bans me from this site!
Seriously, though, there is a lot to be said for the olden days when we would have the radio to let us know what festival was being celebrated, though I would imagine the TV channels would have jumped in and grabbed that opportunity to broadcast the relevant songs today. I guess they are too busy with other things.
