#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
———————————————————–—-
#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Samaadhi-1972)
———————————————————————
In this post we are going to listen to a song from the movie ‘Samaadhi-1972’.
This song seems to be ‘excluded’ from the movie after its release. One comment on the link of this song suggests ‘this song was there when the movie was released initially’. And this comment also mentions that this song is shown as the ‘naach-gaana’ or ‘party song’ at the ‘dacoits’ head quarters’ or at the ‘addaa of the daaku giroh’ 🙂
The video of this song is not available. Only the audio of this song is available.
“Samaadhi-1972” was directed by Prakash Mehra for ‘Sangam Arts International’. It was produced by Bhagwant Singh and G.L. Khanna.
It had Asha Parekh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bhaduri (special appearance), Madan Puri, Abhi Bhattacharya, Raj Mehra, Sundar, Randhir, Ram Mohan, Shetty, Leela Mishra, Tun Tun, B.B. Bhalla, Bhushan Tiwari, C.S. Dubey, Sadhana Khote, Keshav Rana, Dulari, R.P. Sethi, Sadhu Singh, Master Satyajeet, Master Raju, Master Rajeev, and others.
Story, screenplay and dialogues of this movie were written by Pandit Mukhram Sharma. Editing of this movie was done by Lachhmandas.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 15.12.1972.
Majrooh Sultanpuri was the lyricist for this film and had written all the six songs in this movie. Music for this movie was composed by R.D. Burman.
Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Manna Dey had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Here is the list of songs in this movie with respect to their status on the blog.

We can see from the above table that four songs from this movie have been posted on the blog .
Today’s song is the fifth song from this movie to be coverd on the blog and this is the penultimate song from this movie ‘Samaadhi-1972’ as the movie has total six songs in it.
This is an ‘Arabian music’ style song and it even has some ‘arabic’ words in its lyrics (if I am not wrong). I hope I have noted the words correctly.
Knowledgeable readers may throw more light on the lyrics and this song which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is composed by Pancham da in his ‘unique’ style..
Let us enjoy this wonderful song now…
With this song, R D Burman now has 800 songs in the blog as a music director.

Songs to Tickle Your Memory – 30
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
The inboxes on my email, mobile and YouTube account seems to be getting as many reminder messages these days, as messages for request. 🙂 This song apparently has not yet surfaced in public domain. And for those who have heard it, and remember it, this is a vintage Chitragupt melody – stuff that memory ticklers are made of. I got requests from more than one friend (Arvinder ji included, of course) to post this song. And our dear friend Manju ji (daughter of producer director K Amarnath) is also waiting for this song.

In fact, the movie can move the movie goers so much that many of the more sensitive ones (like yours truly) cannot bear to watch the movie.
