Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Naach meri bulbul ke paisa milega

Posted on: October 27, 2008

In case heroes of Bollywood movies need to save a damsel in distress, there are various methods. One method is direct action method, where the hero comes charging in and singlehandedly destroys the villain’s hideout.

The second, indirect method is one that relies on guile. In consists of the hero donning a disguise and entering the villain’s den singing a song.

In case of heroes like Jeetendra for instance, even a front staller can see through the disguise but not the villain and his minions, at least not as long as the song is in progress.

To the credit of Rajesh Khanna, his disguise is more convincing than the disguises discussed above. At least I had difficulty seeing through his disguises, for instance in the “duniya me logo ko” song in “Apna Desh”. This song from “Roti” is also one where our Hero disguises himself and succeeds in his mission of saving the damsel in distress.

This tactics was seen in Bollywood movies for the first time in this movie, I think, so let us see this tactics in action once again or may be for the first time ( as the case may be).

P.S.- I have given a new name to this category of songs. I have named this category of songs as “disguise” song. Very ingenious of me, don’t you think ?

Song- Naach meri bulbul ke paisa milega (Roti ) (1974) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics- Anand Bakshi, MD- Laxmikant Pyarelal

Lyrics

naach meri bulbul
naach meri bulbul ke paisaa milegaa
kahaan kadardaan hamen aisaa milegaa
he naach meri bulbul ke paisaa milegaa
kahaan kadardaan hamen aisaa milegaa
ghunghroo banaa ke paaon mein baandh le
phir meharbaan hamen aisaa milegaa
naach meri bulbul
he naach meri bulbul ke paisaa milegaa
kahaan kadardaan hamen aisaa milegaa

mausam rangeen hai aashiq shaukeen hai
mausam rangeen hai aashiq shaukeen hai
to jo chahe karle mauka haseen hai
phir kab naadaan hamen aisa milega
aisa milega aisa milega
naach meri bulbul
naach meri bulbul ke paisaa milegaa
kahaan kadardaan hamen aisaa milegaa

kitnaa pyaasaa hai ye paise waalaa
kitnaa pyaasaa hai ye paise waalaa
to isko pilaa de tu masti kaa pyaalaa
kahin anjaan hamen aisaa milegaa
aisaa milegaa aisaa milegaa
naach meri bulbul
naach merii bulbul ke paisaa milegaa
kahaan kadardaan hamen aisaa milegaa

apni tamannaa hai
apni tamannaa hai kitni chhoti
do haath kapdaa do waqt roti
apni tamannaa hai
kahaan pe makaan hamen aisaa milegaa
aisaa milegaa aisaa milegaa
naach meri bulbul
he naach meri bulbul ke paisaa milegaa
kahaan kadardaan hamen aisaa milegaa

Quite a timepass song.
And quite popular in its time.
Even now it is popular.

You are ingenious Atul 🙂 I always like RK’s disguises! This film was strange (well, it IS Manmohan Desai) and I couldn’t figure out if I liked it or not. It did keep me riveted though!

This song was very popular in its time, especially among pre teen kids like me.

d song n picturiasation is 😛

Very entertaining song :).
