Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe kaa

on:“pyaar hi pyaar” is a movie starring Dharmendra and Vyjyantimala and this movie has a couple of great romantic songs. But I was not aware that it has a great comedy song too.
This comedy song “ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka” is a take on “ham kaale hain to kya hua dil waale hain” from “gumnaam”. The tune is same, the singer is same, music director is same, and in fact this song has been picturised on the same two characters, viz Helen and Mehmood !
In fact, except that here Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist ( and not Shailendra) almost the same team of “gumnaam” has can be seen in this parody of that iconic “Gumnaam” song.
This is quite a nice song and I loved it. As often happens with me, this is the first time I have heard this song notwithstanding the fact that this song is 40 years old.

Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
jalne waale jalenge
marne waale marenge
ham to shaadi karenge
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
jalne waale jalenge
marne waale marenge
ham to shaadi karenge
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Pyaari bulbul ko agar qaid kauwwe ne kiyaa
ham naa chhodenge use maut ki denge sazaa
Pyaari bulbul ko agar qaid kauwwe ne kiya
ham naa chhodenge use maut ki denge sazaa
maut ki denge sazaa denge sazaa denge sazaa
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
jalne waale jalenge
marne wale marenge
ham to shaadi karenge
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Ham aa gaye phir dar kaahe ka
Baap zaalim hai tera maan bhi qaatil hai teri
Ham bachaa lenge tujhe jaaneman laal pari
Baap zaalim hai tera maan bhi qaatil hai teri
Ham bachaa lenge tujhe jaaneman laal pari
jaaneman laal pari laal pari laal pari

jalne waale jalenge

I have heard this song before but am seeing the picturisation for the first time.
Or putting it more accurately, I am noticing it only now – I have seen this movie long back and have absolutely no recollection of this song in this movie.
The attempt to produce another “hum kale hain” is very blatant. But this song, no disrespect, does not come close. “Hum kale hain” is in a league of its own – it is iconic.
In this song, I must say I am quite impressed by the dancing of Helen and her support troupe. Nothing surprising about Helen of course – she was a natural.
