Din dhal jaaye haay raat naa jaaye

“Guide” (1965) was voted by Bollywood insiders ( music directors, lyricists, singers) as the movie with the best music among all Bollywood movies in history. It is no mean achievement, and it shows just how highly the music of this movie is regarded by the Bollywood music industry themselves.
I have already posted a few songs from this movie. Here is one song that I have not yet posted. It is sung by Rafi and picturised on Dev Anand. Shailendra is the lyricist and S D Burman composed the music. This song has sheer class written all over it.

Song-Din dhal jaaye haay raat na jaaye (Guide) (1965) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Shailendra, MD-S D Burman
Lyrics
aaa
Din dhal jaaye haay raat na jaaye
tu to na aaye teri yaad sataaye
Din dhal jaaye haay raat na jaaye
tu to na aaye teri yaad sataaye
din dhal jaaye
pyaar me jinke sab jag chhoda
aur huye badnaam
unke hi haathon haal hua ye
baithe hain dil ko thaam
apne kabhi the ab hain paraaye
Din dhal jaaye haay raat na jaaye
tu to na aaye teri yaad sataaye
din dhal jaaye
aisi hi rimjhim aisi phuraaren
aisi hi thi barsaat
khud se juda aur jag se paraaye
ham dono the saath
phir se wo saawan ab kyun na aaye
Din dhal jaaye haay raat na aaye
tu to na aaye teri yaad sataaye
din dhal jaaye
dil ke mere paas ho itne
phir bhi ho kitni door
tum mujhse main dil se pareshaan
dono hain majboor
aise me kisko kaun manaaye
Din dhal jaaye hay raat na aaye
tu to na aaye teri yaad sataaye
din dhal jaaye

Interestingly in this song Mohammed Rafi sings Din Dhal Jaye Hai Raat Na Jaye SU To Na Aaye Teri Yaad Sataye after first Antara.
Can check it with earphones on.
