Saathi na koyi manzil

In late 1950s and early 1960s, there were quite a few movies with “Bambai” in their title. Thus we had titles like “Bambai ka chor” and “Mr X in Bombay” those days.
“Bambai ka Babu” was one such movie. This movie had Dev Anand acting opposite debutant Suchitra Sen. This movie had some nice music. S D Burman was the music director and Majrooh Sultanpuri was the lyricist for this movie.
I have already posted a few songs from this movie. Here is another song. This song which is sung by Rafi and picturised on Dev Anand. This song is one of many songs that Rafi sang for Dev Anand under the music direction of S D Burman. like most such songs, this song too has gone on to become a timeless classic.

Listening to “tere bin soone” posted today inspired me to listen to this other Rafi-SD song. Lovely. Just noticed that you mention this as being debut for Suchitra Sen. But she had already acted in a few Hindi movies before this – including Devdas.
