I had mentioned it earlier that “Chaand” (1959) is one forgotten movie that had some lovely songs in it. I have posted two songs from this movie already and both these songs are forgotten gems.
Here is another gem of a song. This song is sung by Lata and picturised on Meena Kumari. It is a joie de vivre genre of song where Meena Kumari and her sahelis are happy as it is the saawan (rainy) season, which as we all know is the season of romance in Bollywood movies and old sanskrit literature.
Bharat Vyas has written a lovely song that expresses the feeling of joy very well. Music is by Hemant Kumar.
This song may not have become very popular in its heydays, but it is undoubtedly a nice song to listen to, and watch.

Great song and very refreshing to see Tragedy Queen happy.
In fact Meena Kumari was of great beauty but for drinking.
Lata’s unforgettable honey like melody and Meena’s beauty, what more can we have. This song reminds me Madhumati (vijayanthimala dancing aaja re kab se kade tak gaye pank).
I sometimes wonder why Dilip Kumar and Meena Kumari never made any great hits, infact they are best when paired.
