Ah….. Another Sanjay Leela Bhansali vintage film with 10 songs abbr. HDDCS (1999) the musical again.
7 out of 10 songs are posted, 5 of these posts are me.
| Song | Date of post |
|---|---|
| Jhonka hawa ka | 12 august 2012 |
| Tadap tadap ke is dil se aah nikalti rahi | 16 April 2013 |
| Mitti pe kheenchee lakeeren rab ne | 27 april 2013 |
| Dheel de dheel de de re bhaiyya | 15 January 2016 |
| Chaand chhupa baadal mein sharma ke meri jaan | 19 October 2016 |
| Albela sajan aayo ree | 25 May 2019 |
| Ham dil de chuke sanam | 3 December 2025 |
But 2 really famous and hit songs like “dholi taaro dhol baaje” and “Nimbooda nimbooda” are not yet posted. First is the fast paced ‘Garba” song and the second is the Aishwariya in ‘Firozi blue” cheeky dance in wedding celebrations song. Why are they missing yet? Maybe waiting for the festive season in 2026, Peeviecie’s Mom, are you reading this?
I have third missing song in my mind for posting, referred in this comment on ‘Tadap Tadap ke” thread:

I love this song. In fact, I liked the other song – Ankhon ki gustakhiya maaf ho, a lot as well. It was a very cheeky/romantic song.
This one had a very different sound. I used to love listening to it.
Thirteen years have passed, while I have had this song in mind for posting, always intended for posting. Unless someone else does it before me. But now I have reached it via this post.
Hope Thandapani(Ava ji) is reading this post.
With 5 posts of these songs written in the past, there is nothing much left to write about the movie itself. The comments section of the posts is also enlightening and refreshed my memory. The other two songs ‘Chand Chhupa” and “Kai Pochhe” are by Sudhir Sir.
So this is the ‘Cheeky romantic song”, nicely filmed with the aesthetics and within the limits of “ghairat-e-mehfil”. With this word I have reached this page. And found my own amateurish translation of the song posted in 2012:
Were fate’s truer to me, you would be mine….I too would’ve been dear to you, like others
I am destined to some sadness, to begin with
plus you have a nature which is lacking in faithfullness,
otherwise I won’t lose a tie/game which was (as good as) won</span
I am needy too, this
I failed to impress upon the provider
I could see the prayer, but couldn’t utter it.
I wish, i was not so beholden in deference of the company
(tongue tied, in awe of the supreme presence)
I feel the suffocation within me
And still I am alive
Not just with you, but I am embarrassed with my own life
Should have been dead by now
Were it not for those memories, which have kept me alive
were fate’s truer to me, you would be mine….
like others, I too would’ve been to you, a dear one
I tried to test the AI, if it could detect the hindi film song, but it’s got stuck on ;
Yeh na thi hamari qismat ki wisal-e-yaar hotaAgar aur jeete rehte yehi intezar hota
Tere waade par jiye hum to yeh jaan jhooth jaana
Ki khushi se mar na jaate agar aetabar hota
Koi mere dil se poochhe tere teer-e-neem-kash ko
Yeh khalish kahaan se hoti jo jigar ke paar hota
These three couplets only by Mirza Ghalib. They could possibly be the inspiration behind the song by Indeevar.
Another time, I tried similar trick to find if AI could detect the real song with the translation of this blog’s most visited page. The AI took me to a book of poems by William Wordworth – The Daffodils. It should not surprise anyone if any of the Wordworth’s poems translations to other languages takes us to the ancient Persians poets of yore, or to other classical Armenian languages. If these works and their interpretations are fed to the AI feeds, from the enshrined manuscripts in the great British libraries and Museums.
Disclaimer: The translation on ‘Rahen na Rahen ham” page though credited to me, is mostly the meticulous work of Sudhir Sir. The “mushabehat” with wordsworth’s style belongs to Sudhir Sir, for I am an ignorant in classical English poetry.
Going back to the song from HDDCS, it is written by Mehboob and actually a duet by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamoorthy with chorus. Music director is Ismail Darbar of this versatile 27 year old music score. On screen the actors performing the playful but serious romance on screen are Salman Khan and Aishwarya, in the backdrop of Aishwarya’s cousin’s wedding. This is background music song, with no lip-synching.

ha ha ha haa
ha ha ha haa
