Sometime back, I had tried to find out the names of playback singers who have sung for Dev Anand in Hindi movies. And I found that there have been several such singers and not just the usual names.
The singers that have sung song for Dev Anand include names like Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh,Hemant Kumar, Talat Mehmood,Manna Dey and C Ramchandra and also lesser known names like Dwijen Mukherji and Shankar Dasgupta.
Here is a song where Dev Anand gets to lip sync in the voice of another singer.
This song is a duet which is sung by Jagmohan Bakshi and Asha Bhonsle. This playful romantic song is picturised on Dev Anand and Kalpana Kartik.
Sahir Ludhianvi has written the delighful lyrics of this song. S D Burman is the music director.
It is always a refreshing change to listen to a different voice. Jagmohan Bakshi’s voice is new for this blog and his voice is different from the usual voices. Incidentally, this Jagmohan is different from Jagmohan Sursagar. This Jagmohan later paired with Sapan to form the music director duo of Sapan Jagmohan.
