This is a song that is today known to the present generation thanks to a remix song.When I saw/ heard this remix song, then the first think that came to my mind was- why they cannot make their own original music. And in case they have to use old songs, why they should not acknowledge this fact somewhere. Plagiarism is plagiarism, and it is blatant plagiarism because the golden era songs, which are being used as source material for these remixes are still fresh in the mind of music lovers.

When I was growing up, I used to hear that the story of Hindi movies mostly consisted of hero and heroine falling in love with each other and then singing songs running around trees.

“Shabistaan” (1951) was an Arabian Nights kind of fantasy movie. Such kind of movie were then regarded as B grade movie. “Stunt” movie was another name for such movies because these movies had lots of fights in them. In fact, Shyam, the hero of this movie, died on the stage of this movie while performing a stunt. He was riding a horse when he fell from the horse and died. I was neither aware of this movie called “Pati Patni” (1966) nor of this song from this movie. Now I have come to know that this was a movie starring Nanda, Sanjeev Kumar, Mehmood, Om Prakash etc.
