Dhoondhhe nazar nazar

Posted on: March 2, 2011

“Dilli Ka Dada” (1962) is a quintessential B grade movie starring Sheikh Mukhtaar, Shekhar,Sahira,Nishi etc.

Since it is a forgotten B grade movie from the golden era of Hindi movie music so it follows that the music of this movie must be A grade. 🙂 Yes that is indeed the case with this movie.

Here is a superb duet from this movie. It is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhonsle. Jaan Nisaar Akhtar is the lyricist. The music, including its wonderful orchestra, is a creation of N Datta. I am not sure about the picturisation of this song. I request my knowledgeable readers to tell us about the names of the actors on whom this song was picturised.

Song-Dhoondhe nazar nazar (Dilli Ka Dada) (1962) Singer-Mahendra Kapoor, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Jaan Nisaar Akhtar, MD-N Datta

Lyrics

dhoondhe nazar-nazar,
meraa chaand hai kidhar
aa jagmagaake,
yoon muskuraake,
mujhko rahe na apni khabar
doley kadam-kadam,
banaa husn bhi sitam
dil ko bachaake,
khud ko chhupaake,
aakhir kahaan ab le jaayen ham
dhoondhe nazar-nazar

aajaa ke main hoon tere waaste,
aankhon ki shamme jalaaye huye
wo shokh nazren jo peechhaa karen,
badhte kadam dagmagaaye huye
ho ho
aajaa ke main hoon tere waaste,
aankhon ki shamme jalaaye huye
ho ho
wo shokh nazren jo peechhaa karen,
badhte kadam dagmagaaye huye
aa jagmagaake,
yoon muskuraake,
mujhko rahe na apni khabar
dhoondhe nazar nazar

keh do ke hamko na dekhe koi,
aise ke ye dil dhadakne lage
haan
main kyaa karoon mere seene mein jab,
ik aag meethi bhadakne lage
ho ho
keh do ke hamko na dekhe koi,
aise ke ye dil dhadakne lage
haan haan
main kyaa karoon mere seene mein jab,
ik aag meethi bhadakne lage
dil ko bachaake,
khud ko chhupaake,
aakhir kahaan ab le jaayen ham
dhoondhe nazar-nazar
mera chaand hai kidhar
aa jagmaake
yoon muskuraake,
mujhko rahe na apni khabar
doley kadam-kadam,
banaa husn bhi sitam
dil ko bachaake,
khud ko chhupaake,
aakhir kahaan ab le jaayen ham
dhoondhe nazar-nazar
