“Nartaki” (1940) is a movie that had Pankaj Mullick, Leela Desai,Najam, Jagdish Sethi etc. Most of these names ring no bells as far as I am concerned.
Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Pankaj Mullick and the picturisation shows Pankaj Mullick singing this song as Leela Desai arrives. The lyricist is Munshi Aarzoo, who I think is the same person as Aarzoo Lucknowi. I request my knowledgeable readers to throw more light on his identity.
Pankaj Mullick is the music director.

In the last but one stanza ‘baaki’ should be replaced by ‘baanki’ which means ‘terhi’ or ‘tirchhi’.

Dilaadaar should be replaced by Dil Azar means dilko dookhanewala

Munshi Arzoo and Arzoo Lucknowi are the same persons.
Munshi ji started his career as a writer for Grihdaah(1936),but from 1937 to 1946,he wrote songs for about 20 movies.
After Partition,he left for Pakistan and continued song writing till his death in 1962 in a very pitiable condition.He always used to regret leaving India,till the last(like many others in the film industry).
