Bade aaye shikaari shikaar karne

Posted on: May 5, 2011

“Angulimaal” (1960) is a movie that was based on the life of a bandit who got reformed after he met Lord Buddha. This movie was produced by Thai International Society and it was directed by Vijay Bhatt. Bharat Bhushan, Nimmi,Anita Guha etc acted in it.

I have discussed a couple of songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. This song is a Helen song with a difference. Yes, this song is indeed picturised on Helen. They had yet to discover the pleasures of cabarat dancing 2500 years ago, so here Helen plays a dancer from that era. Nimmi, accompanied by Bharat Bhushan is off to hunt for deers, and in this song, Helen and a male dancer (who is he ? ) sing this song trying to spread the message of non violence on her.

This lovely song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Manna Dey. Bharat Vyas has written this lyrics in chaste Hindi which sound so sweet in the voices of the two singers. Anil Biswas has composed this song which is one of those numerous gems that I keep discovering all the time.

What a nice song it is to listen to and watch !
