Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe

Posted on: May 10, 2011

The title “Milan” for a Hindi movie has been used once in each decade, beginning from 1940s till 1960s. Thus we have had “Milan” (1946), “Milan” (1958) and “Milan” (1967). I have discussed songs from all these movies in the past.

“Milan” (1946) had Dilip Kumar and Ranjana in lead roles. In the past, I have discussed a rare and specialsong from this movie, viz Suhaani beriyaan beeti jaayen (Milan) . Here is another rare and special song from this movie. This song is a superb ghazal written by Aarzoo Lucknowi and sung by Pahaadi Sanyal. I quite loved the sound of this name called Pahaadi Sanyal in my younger days, even if I found old songs like this “boring” those days.

This song was apparently the last song for Pahaadi Sanyal in his long and illustrious career as a playback singer in Hindi movies.

Anil Biswas in the music director of this wonderful song.

Song-Wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe (Milan) (1946) Singer-Pahaadi Sanyal, Lyrics-Aarzoo Lucknowi, MD-Anil Biswas

Lyrics

wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe
wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe
ab to ek jaam e muhabbat hai ye paighaam mujhe
ab to ek jaam e muhabbat hai ye paighaam mujhe
wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe
wo kahen aap

chhant gaye ranzo museebat ke baraste baadal
chhant gaye ranzo museebat ke baraste baadal
hansta sooraj nazar aata hai sare baam mujhe
hansta sooraj nazar aata hai sare baam mujhe
wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe
wo kahen aap

aarzoo ab to jagah
ho gayi unke dil mein
aarzoo ab to jagah
ho gayi unke dil mein
aa gayaa raas muhabbat mein mera naam mujhe
aa gayaa raas muhabbat mein mera naam mujhe
wo kahen aap ki do chaah ka inaam mujhe

just a tiny bit of info. there was a “Milan” sometime in the 90s also that starred Jackie Shroff with Manisha Koirala (i suppose). but it didn’t ve gr8 songs just good ones. similarly there was a Dushman in the 90s as well as in the new 2000 to 2005 period which had Sunny Deol with Manisha(again)
howzatt!!!!!!!!?????????

Small correction, sunny, manisha koriala, jackie shroff, varsha usgaonkar, anupam kher, deepti naval starred in “DUSHMANI”(1995)(the film which shekhar kapoor directed in parts and left that film in the midway, afterwards some other director completed the film, anand milind must be the music directors (I remember one kavita krishnamurthy & S.p.Blasubramaniam song picturised on sunny deol and manisha koirala-“Kabhi hanste hain, kabhi rote hain, pyar karnewaale deewane hote hain”and “banno teri akhiyaan suremedaani, bannon teri ..hai harjaayee” picturised on nina gupta, dinapathak, manisha koirala(who sang it? main bhool gaya Ila arun or ?)

Further MILAN(1995)(jackie and manisha koirala)starrer had 2 not so bad songs in it(But I remember one duet-“ek baat bataaoon, bataao, terere paas main aaoon, aa jao” and one melancholic male solo(“aanewaali hai milan ki ghadi):-singers must be abhijeet and sadhna sargam:music must be by anand milind)

One “DUSHMAN(98) starring Kajol, sanjay dutt, ashuthosh rana, jas arora had good music by Uttam singh

another “DUSHMAN(1990) starring Mithun chakraborthy, Mandakini ,tanuja, sadashiv amrapurkar.Music director was R.D.BURMAN (Oh sorry I don`t know exactly the songs but amit kumar sang one song in that) the producer is Shakthi samantha
