Jahaan waale hamen duniyaa mein kyun paidaa kiyaa tooney

Posted on: July 7, 2011

“Kundan” (1955) was a movie based on the celebrated French novel “Les Miserables”. Adapting it to Hindi movies meant that there was enough scope for melancholic songs in it 🙂 And the cast included Nimmi, who specialised in just that kind of roles. 😀

Here is a melancholic song from “Kundan” (1955) which is sung by Lata. Only the audio of this song is available, but take my word fot it that the song is picturised on Nimmi.:) If readers are interested in the picturisation of Nimmi at her tear shedding best, then I am sure the video of this song can also be located, and even uploaded, if needed.:)

Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.

Though this song is supposed to be a sad melancholic song, I can not help but use so many smilies in this post that many suggest that I was not suitably saddened by Nimmi’s misery in this song. 🙂

Song-jahaan waaley hamen duniyaa mein kyun paida kiyaa toone (Kundan) (1955) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Ghulam Mohammad

Lyrics

jahaan waale hamen duniyaa mein
kyun paidaa kiyaa toone
jahaan waale hamen duniyaa mein
kyun paidaa kiyaa toone
gareebi de ke aankhen pher lin
ye kyaa kiyaa toone
jahaan waale

mujhe shiqwaa nahin
toone mitaa di zindagi meri
mujhe shiqwaa nahin
toone mitaa di zindagi meri
karam se tere takraati
kahaan tak muflisi meri
mere dil ki ummeeden tod din
achchhaa kiyaa toone
jahaan waale

hamen kyaa ham to mar-mar kar
jiye hain aur jee lenge
hamen kyaa ham to mar-mar kar
jiye hain aur jee lenge
hameshaa khoon ke aansoo
piye hain aur pi lenge
zamaane mein khud apne naam ko
ruswaa kiyaa toone
jahaan waale hamen duniyaa mein
kyun paidaa kiyaa toone
jahaan waale
