Zameen se hamen aasmaan par

Posted on: August 23, 2011

“Adalat” (1958) was a movie starring Pradeep Kumar and Nargis. Quite an add couple, and the movie apparently failed at the box office. But what music this movie had ! Almost all the songs of this movie must be regarded as timeless classics.

I just realised that I have discussed only three songs from this movie. Here is another timeless classic from this movie. This song is a duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. the song is picturised on Nargis and Pradeep Kumar. The wonderful lyrics are penned by Rajinder Krishan. Madan Mohan is the music director.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm.

aaa aaa
aaa aaa
zameen se hamein aasman par
bitha ke gira to na doge
agar ham ye poochhen ke dil mein
basaa ke bhula to na doge

zameen se hamein aasman par
bitha ke gira to na doge
agar ham ye poochhein ke dil mein
basaa kar bhula to na doge

ae raat is waqt aanchal mein tere
jitney bhi hain ye sitaare
ae raat is waqt aanchal mein tere
jitney bhi hain yeh sitaare
jo de de tu mujh ko tu phir main lutaa doon
kisi ki nazar pe ye saare

aaaaa
to ho ke yeh rangeen sapney
sajaa ke mitaa to na doge
agar ham ye poochhen ke dil mein
basaa ke bhula to na doge

tumhaare sahaare nikal to pade hain
hai manzil kahaan dil na jaane
tumhaare sahaare nikal to pade hain
hai manzil kahaan dil na jaane
jo tum saath doge to aayegi ik din
manzil gale se lagaane

aaa aaa
itna to dil ko yaqeen hai
hamen tum dagaa to na doge
agar ham ye poochhen ke dil mein
basaa ke bhula to na doge

zameen se hamen aasmaan par
bitha ke gira to na doge
agar ham ye poochhein ke dil mein
basaa kar bhula to na doge

ah ha ha ha ha haa haaa
la la lala la laa laaaaa
hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm
aa ha aa ha haa aahaa haa

I was wondering as to why this beautiful song has not yet found in your list. In fact, I was to suggest this song in my next farmaish list.

After listening to some of the melancholy songs from ADALAT, this light
song is a refreshing one.

By the way, in lyrics, he word ‘na’ has been missed in some places. For example : ….basaa ke bhula to NA doge’

Thanks for pointing out the missing words. Now I have inserted the missing words.

Adalat had fantastic songs, composed by Madanmohan. This is one of them. I’ve heard this song a lot and always liked it.

My favourite song, thanks for the posting.

If I am not wrong, I have also sent the lyrics of this song alongwith another song of the same film(“Jaanaa tha humse door bahaane banaa liye”)
SORRY, I regret the mistake done by me regarding the repetition of lyrics sending and thus creating confusion to you.

regards
prakash

When it comes to sending lyrics, sometimes two people may send the same lyrics, or two contributors may write articles on the same song. This can happen, and it has sometimes actually happened. The main thing is the discussion of the songs, and enjoying them.
