“Main Wohi Hoon” (1966) is a B grade movie produced by M M Production. A Shamsheer was the director of this movie. The star cast of the movie included Feroz Khan, Kumkum, Murad, Johnny Walker, I. S. Johar, Madan Puri, Roopesh Kumar etc.
This movie, not unsurprisingly, has some nice songs in it, and it is time we discussed these songs.
Here is a piano cum get together song from this movie. This song is sung by Rafi. It is picturised on a grand hall, with Feroz Khan seated on a grand piano and fiddling with the keyboard. It has often been noticed that the sound audible in piano songs is sound from instruments that are not even distantly realted to piano. In this song though, one gets to hear some superb piano music.
Feroz Khan is playing the grand piano and the others gathered in the hall seem to have their own agendas. Murad looks on indulgently, whereas Madan Puri’s looks are anything but indulgent. Kumkum pirouettes about on this song. Going round and about, while holding the tightly wrapped sari around her, and taking care not to trip, and all this while keeping on smiling as well- there are not too many who can multi task with such aplomb.
The picturisation also shows Lata Sinha and Bela Bose.
Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Usha Khanna.
Lyrics of this song and other details were sent to me by Prakashchandra.
The picturisation is nice, and so is the singing and music, but the sound quality is the video is not unsatisfactory. So I have included the audio of the song also, where the sound quality does justice to the song.
Here is this nice song from “Main Wohi Hoon” (1966). Enjoy !

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)
Bahut haseen ho
bahut jawaan ho
haseen raho tum,
jawaan raho tum
hamen na bhoolo,
jahaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho
haseen raho tum,
jawaan raho tum
hamen na bhoolo,
jahaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho
zamaane mein aaftaab banke
tumharaa husn-o-shabaab chamke
ho o o
zamaane mein aaftaab banke
tumharaa husn-o-shabaab chamke
sitaare choome kadam tumhaare
bahaaron ke darmiyaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho
haseen raho tum,
jawaan raho tum
hamen na bhoolo,
jahaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho ,
bahut jawaan ho
labon pe bikhraa hua tabassum
udaasiyon mein kabhi na ho gum
ho o o
labon pe bikhraa hua tabassum
udaasiyon mein kabhi na ho gum
jo tumko dekhe yehi duaa de
ke umr bhar shaadmaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho
haseen raho tum,
jawaan raho tum
hamen na bhoolo,
jahaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho
Khuda kare waqt ka farishta
na thode ye do dilon ka rishta
ho o
Khuda kare waqt ka farishta
na tode ye do dilon ka rishta
kabhi woh naazuk ghadi na aaye
ke pyaar se bad-ghumaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho
haseen raho tum,
jawaan raho tum
hamen na bhoolo,
jahaan raho tum
bahut haseen ho,
bahut jawaan ho

Atul ji,
MAIN WOHI HOON(1966),produced by S.A.Mehmood was a murder mystery, the type of stories which are repeated umpteen number of times and have lost the anxiety element in them due to predictability.
Dhyanchand Rai is a rich person who wants his only daughter to be happy in life with lot of wealth.Asha(Kumkum) has three friends,Rajan(Roopesh Kumar)-a wealthy young man,Jagdish(Madan Puri)-a wealthy businessman and Vijay-a young, handsome Engineer.
Asha loves Vijay, which is not approved by her father. One day,he calls Vijay over dinner and same night the Raisaheb is murdered.
The rest of the story explains how the real culprit is caught.
