Pyaar milega jab na kahin

This article is written by Sudhir, a fellow enthusiast of Hindi movie music and a regular contributor to this blog.

The 1967 film, ‘Woh Koi Aur Hoga’, is a production under the banner of Amrit Kala Mandir, and is directed by A Shamsheer. The films is an action drama with a star cast that includes Feroze Khan, Mumtaz, Sohrab Modi, Dhumal, Asit Sen, Meenakshi and Sham Kumar. The primary singing voice is that of Mohammed Rafi, with interleaved expression of annoyance and exasperation by Mumtaz. The lyrics are by Asad Bhopali, and the music is composed by Usha Khanna.

The words and the music of the song are endearing and attractive. The song is a typical boy-meets-girl-and-girl-not-yet-inclined song. On screen, Feroze Khan is cautioning Mumtaz that although today she is not interested in his advances, but soon one day, she will have to return to him, for it is unlikely that she may find love elsewhere. Appears to be very presumptuous on the part of the ‘hero’, but apparently that is what the director wants, to move the story forward.

Lyrics

main ne kahaa zaraa suniye
ye har baat pe nahin nahin achhi nahin

pyaar milegaa jab na kahin
aanaa padegaa tumhen yahin
pyaar milegaa jab na kahin
aanaa padegaa tumhen yahin
dil ki har ik baat pe
yoon na kaho nahin nahin
nahin nahin
nahin nahin

dekho mujhe badtameezee pasand nahin
maan jaao, varnaa

varnaa aisa pyaar kahin naa paayogi
haan
varnaa aisa pyaar kahin naa paayogi
dekho meri jaan bahut pachhtaaogi
tum apne husn pe
na yoon sitam karo
jawaani ki kasam
jafaayen kam karo
jafaayen kam karo
na yoon sitam karo
pyaar milegaa jab na kahin
aanaa padegaa tumhen yahin
dil ki har ik baat pe
yoon na kaho
nahin nahin
nahin nahin
nahin nahin

tum kyaa samajhte ho main tumhen pyaar karti hoon
besharam, behayaa, deewaane

deewaane ki aas kahaan tak todogi
haay
deewaane ki aas kahaan tak todogi
ik din khud hi pyaar ka rishta jodogi
sataayegaa tumhen
bahaaron ka samaa
akele zindagi
guzaarogi kahaan
bahaaron ka samaa
guzaarogi kahaan
pyaar milegaa jab na kahin
aanaa padegaa tumhen yahin
dil ki har ik baat pe
yoon na kaho
nahin nahin
nahin nahin
nahin nahin

oh ho, main to tang aa gayee
baaz aa jaao nahin to anjaam buraa hogaa

hogaa buraa anjaam to kis ko parwaah hai
aah
hogaa buraa anjaam to kis ko parwaah hai
jab tak mere saath meri mehbooba hai
chhodo ye dhamkiyaan
thhehro chali kahaan
nazren jhukaa ke bas
ik baar keh do haan
thhehro chali kahaan
ik baar keh do haan
pyaar milegaa jab na kahin
aanaa padegaa tumhen yahin
ho pyaar milegaa jab na kahin
aanaa padegaa tumhen yahin
dil ki har ik baat pe
yoon na kaho
nahin nahin
nahin nahin
nahin nahin

Sudhir ji,
As if to give answer to this movie,’Woh koi aur hoga’,the very next movie song is from ‘Main wo hi hoon’. An interesting coincidence !
WOH KOI AUR HOGA(1967),produced by Amrit Jaiswal was a mystery movie, which went on the beaten track, with expected outcome.
Gopal(FK) is staying in a hotel,in a Hill station town where there is a haunted Haveli. No one comes out alive once he enters it,as there is a Pretatma.Gopal finds Shanker,a bearer in the hotel with look alike features and Seema-the club dancer who meets him and disappears often mysteriously.
Once he follows Seema going into that Haveli and is attacked by a skeleton till he is unconcious.Next day he finds himself on his bed in hotel room.He convinces Seema and Shanker to help him solve the mystery. He also tells his friend Pran(shyam kumar) to follow a suspicious Professor(Sohrab Modi).
The story unfolds the real secrets of the Haveli,Professor and CID Inspector Gopal. A very tame story, which took the film nowhere.
