Today India follows the decimal system as far as currency is concerned where 100 paise = 1 rupee. But that was not always the case. The decimal systen was adopted by India in 1957. Before that one rupee was equal to 64 paise, and one anna equalled 4 paise. Thus half a rupee was 8 anna and so on. To differentiate between the paisa of the decimal system from the paisa of earlier days, the decimal system paisa was called “Naya Paisa” (new paisa). Coming across the names of the films for which she has composed music, the first reaction is ‘haanh?, what was that name again’, that is the level of obscurity which pervades her creations.

And all these aspirants look dreamy eyed at the policeman and wish- “Only if I can somehow become a policeman. Then see what I will do.” I have actually heard a desperate aspirant utter such words in a police recruitment drive. 🙂
