Seeing that this blog has by now notched up over 6800 songs, it is natural that we tend to touch a few blog related milestones quite frequently.
This song marks yet another important milestone for this blog.
This song from “Anjuman” (1948) is the third song from this movie to appear in the blog. This movie was a Nargis Arts production. It was directed by Akhtar Hussain. The movie had Nargis, Jairaj, Durga Khote, Neelam, Anwar Hussain, Anwari Bai etc in it.
This song is sung by Mukesh and this happens to be the 500th song of Mukesh in this blog !
It is quite a significant figure. Mukesh was one of the major singers of the golden era of Hindi movies. The number of songs of all categories (Filmy songs as well as NFS) that he sang in his nearly 35 years long career add up to around 1000. About 800 of these songs are Hindi movie songs. So the mark of 500 in this blog means that we have come a long way in covering all the songs rendered by Mukesh. Only about 300 more Hindi movie songs of Mukesh are left to be covered. That should be achievable seeing that three singers in this blog already have more than one thousand songs each.
This song from “Anjuman” (1948) has the usual hallmarks of a Mukesh song, which makes it a song that one can hear several times without feeling bored.

Only the audio of this song is available but my guess is that the song was picturised on Jairaj, who was the hero of this movie.
