Kaise karoon prem ki main baat

Posted on: December 17, 2012

“Anita” (1967) was the third movie of the trilogy of suspense movies that were directed by Raj Khosla- the other two being “Wo Kaun Thhi” (1964) and “Mera Saaya” (1966).

The first two movies of the trilogy had music by Madan Mohan, whereas “Anita” (1967) had music by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, the lyricist of the earlier two movies, was retained in “Anita” (1967).

The movie had Sadhna, Manoj Kumar, Chand Usmani,Sajjan, I.S.Johar,Birbal, Tuntun, Dhumal, Mukri, Shivraj, Bela Bose, Madhumati, Prem Chopra, Kishan Mehta etc in it.

As many as five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Sadhana as a roadside tamasha song. The lyrics and tune of this song remind me of the “Mera Saaya” (1966) blockbuster song viz Jhumka gira re Bareli ke bazaar mein.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra who tells me that this is the sixth and final song from this movie. That being the case, “Anita” (1967) joins “Wo Kaun Thhi” (1964), “Mera Saaya” (1966) and about 180 other movies whose songs are now fully dicussed in the blog.
