I have heard this song many a times and liked this song too, but all this while I was totally unaware about the details of this song. “Bhai Sahab” (1954) is a movie I know well from my days of listening to “Puraani Filmon ke geet” on Radio Ceylon. The songs of this movie sounded like they were sung by K L Saigal but in reality they were sung by C H Atma, a K L Saigal devotee. The most well known song from this movie, viz Nazar ne keh diya afsaana mere pyaar ka has already been discussed in the blog.

“Beti” (1969) is a movie which had Sanjay Khan, Nanda, Kamini Kaushal, Kishor Sahu, Rajendra Nath in it. I have not seen this movie but it is my theory that a movie whose title included words like “Beti”, “Bhabhi”, “Bahu” etc tend to be a tales of women who are shown sacrifices just for the sake of it. I do not know whether I am correct in my assesment of this movie that I have made just by looking at the title and the starcast. I request our knowledgeable readers to help confirm/ refute my guess about this movie.

“Ye Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke” (1963) was based on a real life story, but the Indian censors, movie makers as well as the Indian audience were not matured enough to deal with the subjet. As a result, the topic got diluted, trivialised and sensdanalised to such an extent that the end product was no longer a faithful representation of the case that this movie was based on. In any case, the movie makers had their disclaimer ready (just in case) that their story bore no resemblence to any persons or incidents.
