When one talks of a movie called “Baazi”, one normally means the Dev Anand- Geeta Bali starrer of 1952. It turns out that there was another movie with the same title 32 years later. This movie “Baazi” (1984) was a Dharmendra Rekha starrer and it did not have much impact at the box office.
It turns out that there was another movie of the same title which came exactly mid way between the abovementioned movies. This movie, namely “Baazi” (1968), was a Golden Pictures production. It was directed by Moni Bhattacharya. This movie had Dharmendra, Waheeda Rehman, Helen, Mehmood, Ansari, Nazir Hussain, Ullhas, Chans Usmani, Amar, Manmohan, Keshto Mukherjee, Pinchoo Kapoor, Johnny Walker etc in it.
This movie as well as its music have been by and large forgotten.
Here is a forgotten song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata. This song is picturised on Waheeda Rehman and Dharmendra. The inviting lyrics of this song were written by Shakeel Badayuni. Music was composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

I think SJ and Shakeel had worked once> I need to find the name of film. Further Shakeel had combined forces with SDB in a Benazir; again a rare combo

With SJ it is 1973 film – ‘Pyar Ka Rishta’ where he share the credits with Indeevar (2 songs out of 5). With SDB other than Benazir, Shakeel ji and SDB worked together for the 1964 ‘KAISE KAHOON’ (benazir also a 1964 film) !!!

Anybody knows that great NAUSHAD has worked with great HASRAT JAIPURI…..in film MYFREIND.Kishorekumar and naushad ALSO worked togather in same film,I m not 100pc.sure.

I m really surprised to note that KALYANJI ANANDJI had worked with Great Shakeel Badayuni,Very very rare combination,You should have mentioned this ,in article written above.Song was secondry for me,but this rare factor was more noticeable.Its secondry that film was not successful.I think Shakeel badayuniji had worked with Shankar Jaikishen,I don no,what would have resulted.Any comments ….on THIS issue.

when i was preparing the post, at the first instance it does strike to me, that the combination of Shakeel ji and Kalyanji-Anandji was something special. but was not aware that this the is only film they have work together. also i do not highlight it while sending to Atul ji. Thanks for your pointing the same. as, in the process now i got to learn more about Shakeel ji’s work,and the updated info shall be shared with in future posts.
