This is the second song of my trio of tribute to Mohammed Rafi sahab on the occassion of his 33rd Death Anniversary.
This song is chosen for its beginning with the alphabet ‘B’. It is a solo song from the obscure film called ‘Ghoonghat”(1946). There is no information on the imdb website about this film.
The lyricist is Ramesh Gupta and music director is Shankar Rao Vyas. This movie has at least two more Rafi songs, which are duets with Nirmala Devi. This is the first song from this movie to feature in the blog. Poetry wise it not very original, but the rendition is very simple, therein lies its beauty. I heard this song yesterday for the first time. It is as all Rafi solos of the period, very sweet sounding and genuine in the emotion. The gentle complain regarding unfairness and selfishness of human nature, is just one of the varied expression that Rafi sahab became adapt at expressing later on.
The third song of my trio tribute is a well known song beginning with the alphabet ‘C’. But that is for the next post.

Atulji, I am facing a problem in viewing this post in IE 8. The YouTube video link up doesn’t show up (this wasn’t the case till recently). I have no such problem with Safari in my Mac. PLEASE HELP!! I am computer illiterate!

Dear Sri Sheshadri,
I am having the same difficulty. I work around this problem by right-clicking on the blank black screen and selecting ‘open on a new tab’. The screen on the new tab can now be played, and you can go to Youtube page as well.
