“Bahen” (Sister) was a National Studios Production of 1941. It was directed by Mehboob Khan. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Nalini Jaywant, Harish, Husn Bano, Kanhaiyalal, Swarup Rani, Bhudo Advani, Iqbal Begum, Baby Meena etc in it.
This by now forgotten movie had 12 songs in it which were sung by as many as nine singers.
One song from this movie has been discussed in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song is a bhajan. It is sung by Husn Bano and Nalini Jaiwant and it is picturised on them as well.
It is for the first time that I have seen Husn Bano, a well known singer of that era. And Nalini Jaiwant, who was later to become a leading actress during 1950s looks so young. Born on Feb 18, 1926, she was only 13- 14 years of age during the picturisation of this song. She looks and sounds like a kid in this song.
Safdar Aah Sitapuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Anil Biswas.

Even at that young age Nalini Jaywant looked beautiful and had a wonderful voice. I have collected quite a number of songs by her and I often enjoy listening to them.
