“Rattan” (1944), an unprecedented musical blockbuster, earned more money for the producers through its music rigths than what he had expected to earn at the box office through ticket sales. This Jaiminy Dewan production was directed by M Sadiq and the movie had Karan Dewan, Swarnlata, Amir Bano, Basant Kumar, Chanda, Gulab, Manju, Badri Prasad, Vasti etc in it.
There were ten songs in the movie. Nine of these songs have been discussed in the past. Here is the tenth and final song from “Rattan” (1944). This song is sung by Manju and it is picturised on her as well, with Swarnlata also visible in the picturisation.
D N Madhok is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.

The words……jo dil lekar aankh churaate hain, aap sapan mein milne aate hain……..seem to come straight from the deepest part of the heart.
What a rendition of expression, composition and meaning of words.!!!
