“Sasuraal” (1961) was directed by T Prakash Rao for Prasad Productions. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, B. Saroja Devi, Mehmood, Shobha Khote, Leela Misra, Anwar Hussain, Randhir, Jayshree Gadkar, Ratnamala, Wasti, Lalita Pawar, Bipin Gupta, Dhumal, Misra etc in it.

The movie had eight songs in it and one of these songs, namely Teri pyaari pyaari soorat ko won the Filmfare Award for the best song of the year.

Seven songs from the movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eighth and final song from the movie. This song is a disguise song cum teasing song. IT is sung by Rafi and the picturisation shows Rajendra Kumar, disguised as a Pathan teasing B Saroja Devi. There were instances where disguised hero would sing in disguised voice, like say in Manna Dey’s voice instead of the usual Rafi voice. Here the hero does not even try to use a disguised playback voice. As it turns out, the dumb heroine is unable to see thorough the disguise of the hero, much to the mirth of movie goers who are thus suitably amused by the picturisation of the song. 🙂

Shailendra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

With this song, “Sasuraal”(1961) finally joins the list of movies that have all their songs discussed in the blog.

Song-Ye albela taur na dekha (Susuraal)(1961) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Shailendra, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)

ye albela taur na dekha
tumsa koi aur na dekha
husn ka ye zor na dekha
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
ye albela taur na dekha
tumsa koi aur na dekha
husn ka ye zor na dekha
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake

tum hamko agar is haal mein pehchaante
to ham aapki baanki nazar ko maante
tum hamko agar is haal mein pehchaante
to ham aapki baanki nazar ko maante
mera fasaana pata ya thhikaana agar poochhte jaante
ye albela taur na dekha
tumsa koi aur na dekha
husn ka ye zor na dekha
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake

hai jeewan ka saath lekin juda ho jaayenge
in veeranon mein ik baar phir kho jaayenge
hai jeewan ka saath lekin juda ho jaayenge
in veeranon mein ik baar phir kho jaayenge
sang mein guzaaren jo din pyaare pyaare
sadaa hamko yaad aayenge
ye albela taur na dekha
tumsa koi aur na dekha
husn ka ye zor na dekha
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake

ik bhooli huyi bisari huyi pehchaan hoon
ik toota hua kuchla gaya armaan hoon
ik bhooli huyi bisari huyi pehchaan hoon
ek toota hua kuchla gaya armaan hoon
maine ye maana ki main hoon deewaana
magar ek insaan hoon
ye albela taur na dekha
tumsa koi aur na dekha
husn ka ye zor na dekha
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
oye
ye albela taur na dekha
tumsa koi aur na dekha
husn ka ye zor na dekha
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
wallah yaar lut gaye ham to nazar milaake
