“Pyaase Panchhi”(1960) was directed by Harsukh Bhatt for Shree Prakash films, Bombay. The movie had Ameeta, Mehmood, Jeewan, David, Malika, Niranjan Sharma, Leela Mishra, Athavle, Omprakash Sharma, C L Shah, Narbada Shankar, Agha etc in it.
Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from the movie. This song is sung by Mukesh and Lata. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.
The song is picturised as a stage performance song. On stage, Mehmood in his imagination substitutes the lead female dancer with Ameeta and imagines lip syncing this duet with her.
It goes without saying that the auditorium is houseful. But seeing that the lead actors are already onstage, there was no necessity for reserving front row seats for them among the audience.:)
PS-I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the female dancer whom Mehmood imagines to be Ameeta all the time in the picturisation.

No, is NOT Malka/Malika/Mallika(actress Mumtaz`s sister), I think she is a junior artiste.(eventhough Mallika is there in the movie, she is not the dancer, who Mehmood imagines as Ameeta)
From any angle, she does not look like Mallika

She is Aruna(the dancer-Daag ka “Nee main yaar manaanaani,chaahe log boliyaan boley”-waali-dancer with Padma Khanna)

Dancer Aruna `s name always does not get mentioned in the credit sequences of the movies, she featured prominently in many qawwali and other songs of that era ,
another song I remember Aruna at the given point of time is, in the song of Aaye din Bahar ke:rafi:song:ARUNA/AROONA (also worked as dance assistant)features prominently with Sheila Ramachandra as dancer from 1:17 in the below video link: Am I right ??

I think she is there in Bombai Ka babu(1960) as one of Suchitra Sen`s saheli`s in the song “Dekhne mein bhola hai dil ka salona, Bambai se aayaa hai baabu chinna anna” Please correct me If I am wrong.
