“Society”(1942) was directed by Nazir for Hind Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Sitaara devi, Nazir, Majid, Gope, Alaknanda, Shaam, Rajkumari Shukla, Chopra, Malti, Janardan Sharma, Anwari, Ishrat etc in it.

The movie had eleven songs in it. One song from the movie has already been discussed in the past.

Here is the second song from “Society”(1942) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Rafiq Ghaznavi. Hasrat Lucknowi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Rafiq Ghaznavi.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

Thanks Atulbhai, Very nice. A good voice with lots of ‘Soz’ and ‘Harkats’. The song and tune is inspired from the then (and even now, with good taste music admirers) Ustad Barkat Ali’s famous gazal “Oof Re Muhabbat Haaye Jawani”
