“Zamaana”(1957) was directed by Arbind Sen for Filmistan, Bombay. The movie had Kamaljeet, Ameeta, Nazeer Hussain, Gajanan Jaageerdaar, Feroz, Paro, Shakuntala, Kanu Rai, Nimbalkar, Ram Avtar, Chandrakanta, Master Prithviraj, Yaakoob etc in it.
There were seven songs in the movie. Two of the songs were composed by Anil Biswas and they have already been covered in the blog. Remaining five songs of the movie were composed by Salil Chaudhary.
Here is the third song from the movie and first Salil Chaudhary composition from “Zamaana”(1957) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt and chorus. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist.
Only the audio is available. From the sounds of it, the song appears to be a club song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
