“Palkon Ki Chhaaon Mein”(1977) was produced by A Khalia and Nariman Baria and directed by Meraj Ansari for Navsampati Productions, Bombay. This movie had Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Farida Jalal, Leela Chitnis, Master Raju Shrestha, Indrani Mukherjee, Amjad Khan, Asrani, Kanhaiyalal, Leela Mishra, Jeetendra, Rekha, Aruna Irani, Om Shivpuri, Sharma, Pratima Devi, Dhumal, Shahid Bijnori, Sunder etc in it.
Three songs from the movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth song from “Palkon Ki Chhaaon Mein”(1977) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Suman Kalyanpur. Gulzar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The song is picturised as a mujra song in a village setting. Rekha plays the mujrewaali. She is being watched by the usual suspects like Rajesh Khanna, Amjad Khan,Asrani etc. Even a kid like Master Raju is allowed to watch this stuff and he alongwith his chum seems to be enjoying the stuff to his heart’s content. They obviously did not believe in depriving young kids from wachin grown up stuff in those areas. 🙂
