“Daamaad”(1951) was produced by N T Mudnene and directed by Bima Productions, Bombay. The movie had Bhagwan, Krishn Kumari, A Shah, Yashodhara Katju, Cuckoo, Protima Devi, Amir Bnu, Shamu, Ishu Jagirdar, Baby Sheila, baby Nirmala, Baby Hafiza, Baby Natuja, Habib, Mehar Tarapore, Kathana etc in it.

The movie had eight songs in it that were composed by three music directors. Two of these songs have been discussed in the past.

Here is the third song from “Daamaad”(1951) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Mrs Vishni Lal, Bahar Ajmeri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shaamu.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this rare song.

Song-Guzre zamaane yaad na aa (Daamaad)(1951) Singer-Vishni Lal, Lyrics-Bahaar Ajmeri, MD-Shaamu

Lyrics

guzre zamaane yaad na aa
guzre zamaane yaad na aa
rone se ae dil hoga kya
rone se ae dil hoga kya
guzre zamaane yaad na aa

yaad na kar wo pyaar ki baaten
bhool ja ae dil chaandni raaten
kismat mein jo kuchh bhi likha thha aa aa
kismat mein jo kuchh bhi likha thha aa aa
pagli wo hokar hi raha aa
pagli wo hokar hi raha aa aa aa
guzre,
guzre zamaane yaad na aa
rone se ae dil hoga kya
guzre zamaane yaad na aa

dil ne sahe ab gham ke bhaale
phhoot ke bahne lage hain chhaale
kahte hain aakaash ke taare ae
kahte hain aakaash ke taare ae
toota dil gaakar bahla aa
toota dil gaakar bahla aa aa
guzre,
guzre zamaane yaad na aa
rone se ae dil hoga kya
guzre zamaane ae
