“Nausherwan e Adil”(1957) was directed by Sohrab Modi for Minerva Movietone. The movie had Raj Kumar, Mala Sinha, Sohrab Modi, Murad, Naseem, Bipin Gupta, Agha, Shammi, Niranjan Sharma, Sheela Vaz, Heera Sawant, Amir Banu etc in it.

The movie had nine songs in it. Eight songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the ninth and final song from the movie.

This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus. Parwez Shamshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.

I am unable to identify the lady lip syncing the boat song with her sahelis. HFGK mentions that this movie was the last movie of Naseem Bano. So the lip syncer could well be Naseem Bano during her advancing years. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the lady.

I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics. I request our knowledgeable readers to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections in the lyrics.

With this song, “Nausherwan e Adil”(1957) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Song-Ye nazaakat ye aalam shabaab ka (Nausherwaan e Adil)(1957) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Parvez Shamshi, MD-C Ramchandra

Lyrics

ye aalam shabaab ka
ik pyaala bhara hai sharaab ka
ho kahin chhalke na

ye nazaakat ye aalam shabaab ka
ik pyaala bhara hai sharaab ka
ho kahin chhalke na

oye wallah
maashaallah maashaallah maashaallah
oye wallah
maashaallah maashaallah maashaallah

thhandi saansen kabhi siskiyaan hain
yaad jaana hai aur hichkiyaan hain
thhandi saansen kabhi siskiyaan hain
yaad jaana hai aur hichkiyaan hain
haal poochho na
haal poochho na khaana kharaab ka
ik pyaala bhara hain sharaab ka
ho kahin chhalke na
ho kahi dhhalke na
oye wallah
maashaallah maashaallah maashaallah

chaahe honthon se pee
chaahe aankhon se pee
chaahe honthon se pee
chaahe aankhon se pee
jeene ka maza hai yahi zindagi
dar tujhe kya

phool murjha na jaaye gulaab ka
ik pyaala bhara hai sharaab ka
ho kahin chhalke na
ho kahi dhalke na

@ Atul ji – Congratulations on covering all songs of ‘Nausherwaan e Adil -1957’ and it’s joining to the ‘list of movies -all songs covered’ 🙂

arre huzoor YYIIPPEEEE!!!!! boliye

In this Film , Naseem Bano enacted the role of the Empress of Iran and it is unthinkable that the Malika-e-Iran would be cavorting with a bunch of nautch girls . Whoever that Lady with the Harp is , it is certainly not Naseem Bano.

With warm regards

PARTHA CHANDA

The actress lip syncing the song is Heera Sawant, a dancer who had worked in many Hindi films of the 1950s.

Sorry , Sadanandji , she is definitely NOT Heera Sawant either . In fact , there is a duet from the same film , picturised on Heera Sawant and Sheila Vaz , as below :

( Zohrabai sings for Heera and Asha Bhonsale for Sheila Vaz ) . Ms Heera Sawant can easily be identified by her broad toothy smile , which is her distinguishing feature .

Perhaps Arun Deshmukhji can throw some light .

With warm regards

PARTHA CHANDA
