“Jawaani Ki Hawa” (1959) was produced by P N Arora and directed by M Sadiq for All India Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Vyjyanti Mala, Pradeep Kumar, Purnima, Raj Mehra, Shammi, Anwar, Badri Prasad, Helen, Amar, Anil Kumar, S Bannerji, Kesho, Parshuram, Johny Walker, Tiger (Dog) etc. in it.

The movie had seven songs in it. As many as six songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.

Here is the seventh and final song from the movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.

What a great song to listen to and watch. It is a nice “Helen” song with a difference. The picturisation shows Helen, dressed in Ghaghra choli for a difference, dancing with her usual gusto while the predominantly male audience (including Pradeep Kumar and Johny Walker) look on.

Lyrics by Rajinder Krishan are superb and are different from the usual lyrics for this genre of song. It is clear that everyone involved in the creation of the song enjoyed creating this song.

Today is the 96th day of the year 2017. With this hidden gem of a song, “Jawaani Ki Hawa” (1959) becomes the 100th YIPPEED movie of the year 2017. I had set myself a new year resolution that I would get at least one movie YIPPEED every day of this year. So far I have managed to stick to my new year resolution without fail. Hopefully I will be able to stick to this new year resolution as long as I can.

Song-Baabu re baabu re baabu re(Jawaani Ki Hawa)(1959) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Ravi

Lyrics

baabu re baabu re baabu re
baabu re baabu re baabu re
gareeb ki hoon chhokri
karoongi teri naukri
julmi najariya na daal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re
baabu re baabu re baabu re
gareeb ki hoon chhokri
karoongi teri naukri
julmi najariya na daal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae

kaali taqdeer meri
ang mera gora
ghoor ke na dekh
haaye rang mera gora
kaali taqdeer meri
ang mera gora
ghoor ke na dekh
haaye rang mera gora
hoor to zaroor hoon
magar majboor hoon
kaahe bichhaata hai jaal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
gareeb ki hoon chhokri
karoongi teri naukri
julmi najariya na daal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae

dekhne ko saara jag
dekhe mera mukhda
jaane mere toote huye dil ka na dukhda
dekhne ko saara jag
dekhe mera mukhda
jaane mere toote huye dil na ka dukhda
roop ki bahaar hoon
main dilon ka karaar hoon
gham ki magar hoon misaal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
gareeb ki hoon chhokri
karoongi teri naukari
julmi najariya na daal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
baabu re baabu re baabu re

patli kamar meri
haal bhi hai patla
liya hai naseeb ne na jaane kaisa badla
patli kamar meri
haal bhi hai patla
liya hai naseeb ne na jaane kaisa badla
chaand ka jawaab hoon
haseen be-hisaab hoon
jaise ho gud’di mein laal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re
baabu re baabu re baabu re
gareeb ki hoon chhokri
karoongi teri naukri
julmi najariya na daal re
baabu re baabu re baabu re ae
baabu re baabu re baabu re
