“Miss India”(1957) was directed by I S Johar for Rawal Films, Bombay. The movie had Nargis, Pradeep Kumar, Nishi, Shammi, Tuntun, Sheela Vaz, Minoo Mumtaz, I S Johar, Pran etc in it.

This movie had ten songs in it. Eight songs have been covered in the past.

Here is the ninth song from the movie to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

The song is a dance song. It is picturised on Sheila Vaz and Narula, according to the uploader of the song. I can identify Sheila Vaz, but I had never heard of Narula before. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us more on her.

Song-Gori zara mukhde se ghoonghat hataao na (Miss India)(1957) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-S D Burman

Lyrics

gori zara mukhde se ghoonghat hataao na
na
na
aisa bhi kya hai
sooratiya dikhaao na
na na na
gori zara
gori zara mukhde se ghoonghat hataao na
aisa bhi kya hai
sooratiya dikhaao na
na na na

shaadi se pahle sawere sawere
teri gali ke lagaate thhe phere
shaadi se pahle sawere sawere
teri gali ke lagaate thhe phere
yaad karo
yaad karo beeti wo batiyaan
bhulaao na
bhulaao na
gori zara
gori zara mukhde se ghoonghat hataao na
aisa bhi kya hai
sooratiya dikhaao na
na na na

ho o o
yaad karo ek din ambuwa ke ped tale
dholak ke sang sang
naache thhe shaam dhale
yaad karo karo
yaad
ek din ambuwa ke ped tale
dholak ke sang sang
naache the shaam dhale
bachpan ke
bachpan ke geet wahi phir se sunaao na
sunaao na
gori zara
gori zara mukhde se ghoonghat hataao na
aisa bhi kya hai
sooratiya dikhaao na
na na na

kaahe ko aayi ye zaalim jawaani
bhool gayi ekdum wo batiyaan puraani
kaahe ko aayi ye zaalim jawaani
bhul gayi ekdum wo batiyaan puraani
is’se to acha hai maike chae jaao na
na na na na
gori zara mukhde se ghoonghat hataao na
aisa bhi kya hai
sooratiya dikhaao na
