Blog Day : 3521 Post No. : 14143

“Ajeeb Ladki” (1952) was directed by Mohammad Ehsan for Tajmahal Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Rehman, Naseem Bano, Cuckoo, Shashikala, Agha, Jayant, Shyam Kumar, Shakuntala, Samson, Kathana, Bakshi, A K Sagar, Munshi Munaqqa etc in it.

The movie had ten songs in it. Seven songs from the movie have been covered in the past.

Here is the seventh song from “Ajeeb Ladki” (1952) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Shamshad Begam and chorus. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.

Only the audio of the song is available. Seeing that Shamshad Begam’s voice appears in six out of ten songs of the movie, my guess is that she sang for the leading lady viz Naseem Bano. Nevertheless, I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of the song.

Song-Chupchaap chala ja door na ho magroor o chanda pyaare (Ajeeb Ladki)(1952) Singer-Shamshad Begam, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Ghulam Mohammad
Chorus

Lyrics

chupchaap chala ja door
na ho magroor
o chanda pyaare
o chanda pyaare
o o o
mere saajan ko jab dekhega
mar jaayega sharam ke maare
chanda pyaare
o chanda pyaare

ho o o
tujhe husn pe apne naaz hai
ho naaz hai
to hua kare main kya karoon
main kya karoon
tujhe husn pe apne naaz hai
to hua kare main kya karoon
meri duniya se tu door hai
zara neeche aa to jawaab doon
o jawaab doon
tere mukhde par hai daag laga
bedaag hai sainyya hamaare
o chanda pyaare
o o o
mere saajan ko jab dekhega
mar jaayega sharam ke maare
chanda pyaare
o chanda pyaare

o o o
tujhe kasam hai apne shikaar ki
o shikaar ki
mere piya ka roop bhi dekh le
o dekh le
tujhe kasam hai apne shikaar ki
mere piya ka roop bhi dekh le
barsaane waale chaandni
zara thhandi dhoop bhi dekh le
o dekh le
mere dil mein pyaar ki aag lagi
yoon door se kar na ishaare
o chanda pyaare
o o o
mere saajan ko jab dekhega
mar jaayega sharam ke maare
chaanda pyaare
o chanda pyaare
