There have been three Hindi movies titled “Roop Lekha”. They were released in 1934, 1949 and 1962.
“Roop Lekha”(1962) was produced by N N Sippy and directed by Mohammad Hussain for Prithvi Pictures, Bombay. Incidentally, “Roop Lekha”(1949) too was directed by Mohammad Hussain.
“Roop Lekha”(1962) had Mahipal and Vijaya Chaudhary in lead roles with Sundar, Raj Adeeb, Shaam Kumar, Krishna Kumari, Amar, Jeewan Kala, Madhumati, Rafiq, Munshi Munaqqa, Mohammad Ali, Ghani, Arvind Kumar, Dondu, Balram, Nazeer Kashmiri etc also figuring in it.
There were six songs in the movie. One song has been covered in the past.
Here is the second song from “Roop Lekha”(1962) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Suman Kalyanpur. Farooque Kaiser is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naashaad.
The song is picturised as a Raaj darbaar dance song. I am unable to identify the dancer. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the dancer as well as the other actors visible in the picturisation.
