That is our respected Bharat Bhai. I spoke to him last in this March. Just a courtesy call. But whenever I spoke to him, he was always energetic, full of life and cheerful. . .
I used to call him occasionally, in between particularly after meeting him first time in November 2016 during the Mumbai gang-out. Thereafter the second meeting happened in April 2018 at Surat when Arun ji, Sadanand ji and Bharat Bhai came to meet Harish Raghuvanshi ji at his place.
But today, on 16th May we got this sad news of his demise on 8th of this month.
We all pray to god to rest his soul in peace!!!
Our heartfelt condolences and tributes to him!!!
This song which could have been a part of his series ‘Sureeli Suman’ which I had shared to him and requested a post, but it could not happen somehow, may be because of his health issues. . .
After coming back from Kenya to India I was eager to visit Mumbai and meet him but it could not happen.
On 19th March I called him to greet him on his birthday and also to seek his blessings, as I always used to do while ending the conversation.

It was shocking to hear news of our Shri bharatbhai. He had gifted me a pendrive filled with songs of Lata with all the music directors that she had worked with. i n addition there were a lot of bhajans and classical based songs.
he showed me his treasure trove of songs when i visited him at his residence last year saved on almost 16 hard drive. these were downloaded from various sources and his personal records and cassettes and CDs are saved in there.
i am really sad that i didn’t visit him in my last trip to Mumbai.
praying that his family has the strength to bear this loss

Extremely sad news. I had the privilege of meeting him in December 2017 at Arunji’s place, when he dropped in. He had no particular reason to come, but it was his love for old film music. He was 80-plus, but it was amazing he could negotiate Mumbai’s local traffic and public transport. I was happy to drop him back to his home. RIP Bharatji.

Avinash Ji, Thanks for the post remembering our beloved, always energetic, jovial Bharat Bhai. Our members have recalled his admiration for Jaidev , Suman Kalyanpur & Hema. It is a great loss
The song of this post is nice and could mostly be in Bharat Bhai’s collection.
The man I have never met, will always have a special place in my heart. May his soul rest in peace

I felt so very sad to hear about the demise of Bharat Ji! Although I hadn’t met him (not even talked to him), it was as if a family member was lost! I’m Shanti!!!

Thanks for your timely post.
It came as a shock to hear that Bharat ji was no more. I would not have believed it if it was not his son informing me.
Whenever I phoned him, we would talk for atleast 15 to 20 minutes. Of late I was feeling his tiredness and weakness through his voice, but as usual he would talk very jovially.
I will always remember him. One of his friends lives in our society, so whenever he came to me, he would definitely visit him too.
He attended almost every meeting at my place except the latest one, may be due to his health.
