“Ghunghroo”(1952) was directed by Hiren Bose for Filmkar Limited, Bombay. The movie had Omprakash, Sumitra Devi, Kuldeep Kaur, K N Singh, Badri Prasad, Murad etc in it.
“Ghunghroo”(1952) had nine songs in it. Six of these songs have been covered so far.
Here is the seventh song from “Ghunghroo”(1952) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar.Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.
Only audio of the song is available. This movie had four Lata Mangeshkar solos and one C Ramchandra Solo. The movie also had twoduets of C Ramchandra and Shamshad Begam, one duet of Rafi and Zohrabai Ambalewali, and one duet of Lata Mangeshkar and Geeta Dutt. Under these circumstances, it is difficult to guess which actor sang in the voice of which singer. I can make some informed guess thoug. My guess is that the male playback singers (C Ramchandra and Rafi) sang for Om Prakash. Two male singers may have been needed because Om Prakash played double role in this movie. Another of my guess is that Lata Mangeshkar, who sang as many as five songs inclding four solo songs must have sung for Sumitra Devi, the lead actress of the movie and the biggest star attraction of the movie.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
