I think I will not be entirely wrong if I say that one of the reasons songs appeal to all of us is not just because of the song itself. This may be true for a large majority of songs but I am sure each one of us has his or her own bouquet of songs that are special mainly of memories these songs represent.

“Sunahre Din” (1949) was a movie where Raj Kapoor, a newcomer was paired opposite Rehana, an established star of the times. This movie had some nice songs in it and I have discussed a couple of songs from this movie already.

“Dilruba” (1950) has some awesome songs in it. In fact I have discussed as many as five songs from this movie. In fact I was so impressed with one song ( Dhak dhak karti chali jeewan ki rail re )of this movie that I had posted that as the 2000th song of this blog.

This is a very well known song- in fact an iconic song. This song is a bullock cart song sung by Mukesh. All these days I thought that this song was from a Raj Kapoor movie. So it came as a surprise to me when I realised that this song is actually from a Dilip Kumar movie.
