It has been pointed out by my readers that the song “Ramaiyya vasta vaiyya” from “Shree 420” (1955) is missing from the blog. Not just this song, I am sure many great gems of yesteryears are missing from the blog. But I will gradually add all these songs. The fact that so many great songs are still missing from this blog despite the blog boasting of over 2600 songs is an indication that there are far too many great songs that were created during the golden era of Bollywood movie music.

In Bollywood movies, it is just the hero who gets drunk. Ladies getting drunk is not considered a proper thing. So it comes as a big surprise to find both of them drunk and singing this drunkard song.

I have posted over 2400 songs in this blog already. I just realised that the iconic song “Mera Joota Hai Japani” is not yet posted. I will not call an oversight. In fact, it is a tribute to the quality and quantity of awesome songs that one can post so many songs and still many more great songs would still be left undiscussed.

The movie is called “Phir Subah Hogi” (1958) which was a serious movie. Moreover, the actors, singers, music director and lyricist of this movie are also known for creating serious stuff. And most songs of this movie are indeed serious songs.

Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand were the three biggest male stars of Bollywood movies for nearly two decades. Considering that song and dance plays such important roles in Bollywood movies, including the movies in which these actors acted, it is interesting to note that Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand successfully dodged dancing in their movies.

Here is a nice car song from “Shrimaan Satyawaadi” (1960). Unlike most car songs, where there is either one or two persons, here there are three persons in the car.
