During the last few weeks, I have started keeping a tab on Radio’ Ceylon’s special programme ‘Puraane Filmon Kaa Sangeet – Kam Sune Ansune Gaane’ which is broadcasted at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesdays. It is in this prograame that I get a chance to listen to some of the rare songs. However, most of the time, I find that such songs have already been covered in the Blog. PAAPI (1943) was produced by Satish Batra under the banner of Batra Productions, Lahore. The film was directed by Majnu. The star cast included Madhuri, Zahoor Raja, Majnu, Salma, Satish Batra, Moti, etc. I do not have much idea about the story line of the film. Probably, the film must have ended with the sinner getting reformed.

Today is the birth anniversary of Ashok Kumar, one of Hindi film industry’s legendary actors. It is ironic that it also happens to be the death anniversary of his younger brother, Kishore Kumar, another of the industry’s legends.
