“Rani Roopmati” (1959) was a Ravikala Chitra Production. It was produced and directed by S N Tripathi. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Nirupa Roy, Nalini Chonker, Ullhas, B. M. Vyas, Babu Raje, Bharat Bhushan, Amarnath etc in it.
Here is a song of “veer” ras from this movie. This song is sung by Usha Mangeshkar and chorus. Bharat Vyas is the lyricist. Music is composed by S N Tripathi.
The song is picturised on Nirupa Roy (Playing Rani Roopmati) and others playing her army and subject.

“Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan” (1959) is a Mythological/historical movie which had actors like Jairaj, Anita Guha, Ulhas, Sapru, B M Vyas, Chand Usmani, Sundar etc in it. Topicwise/ budgetwise, it was a B grade movie. So naturally it follows that the music of this movie must be A grade. 🙂

“Kavi Kalidas” (1959) is a movie based on the life of the great Sanskrit language poet called Kalidas. This movie has songs that are naturally in Sanskritised Hindi. And these songs sound so sweet to the ears.

“Kavi Kalidas”(1959) was a Sindhu Films production. It was directed by S N Tripathi, who also produced the movie, acted in it and of course composed the music.

Unpar kaun kare jee vishwaas

The usual love stories constituted the bulk of storyline in mainstream Hindi movies of the past. The fact that history and mythology provided such rich sources of stories that could be used was not given much thought by mainstream movie makers. It was left to movie makers of smaller resources (makers of B grade movies) to make movies on such topics that were regarded as risky and unviable by mainstream movie makers.
