When it comes to Hindi movie music, for instance, what kind of music does one expect when Bharat Vyas is the lyricist and S N Triptahi is the music director ? I had resolved not to access any Hindi film related websites for few days to enable me to attend to some other pending works which included writing my travel blogs. But the urge to listen to old Hindi film songs was so strong that this resolution was broken in less than 24 hours. It appears that listening to and discovering new ‘gems’ from old Hindi film songs is an addiction for which there is no detoxification therapy. 😀

“Senapati” (1961) is a movie I know nothing about. This extremely obscure movie was a Mohla films production. It was directed by Kedar Kapoor. Starcast of the movie included names like Prithviraj Kapoor, Nalini Jaiwant, Amarnath, Tiwari, Durga Khote, K. N. Singh, Veena etc.

A few songs from “Suhaag Sindoor” (1961) have been discussed in this blog. The movie was no great shakes and the songs of this movie have also been forgotten, but the songs are decent songs to listen to.

“Suhaag Sindoor”(1961) is the kind of movie which is unremarkable, does some modest business and is then forgotten with time. if such movies get remembered in future, then it is mainly because of some crazy 🙂 people who dig up movies like this in search of some nice songs in them.

Recently , while discussing a mujra song composed by R D Burman, I made this observation that R D Burman had composed very few songs of this genre.
Now I have been given a list of lots and lots of mujra songs compositions of R D Burman by Prakashchandra. In fact he sent me the lyrics of a mujra song from the debut movie of R D Burman. Now I am suitably humbled by all this information which was not known to me.
