This post is the 13600th post, 600th song of Sahir Ludhianvi and 1100th post of Sudhir Jee in the blog.
One more song that I can’t believe has not yet been included in the annals of our blog. Such a melodious, lilting and fast paced lovable song. It used to be aired on the radio quite regularly, and was one of the listening favorites. The vintage is 1964, and so quite well still retained in the memory. As I started to search for a Sahir song for this post today, I was not quite satisfied with some of the ones that showed up as possible candidates. You see, as we progress and post more songs, and the artist counts starts to close in to their total no. of songs, then in all likelihood, the better ones, the favorite ones are mostly accounted for on the blog. So if one is looking for a favorite song as a representative work of an artist, it becomes quite an effort to locate one.

As my age advances, I have started realising that I am recalling memories of my childhood and younger days much better than before. The flip side is that I tend to get forgetful or absent-minded in respect of my immediate past events. While the old days’ remembrance can be nostalgic and some time makes me emotional, the positive side is that I have started remembering some of the old Hindi films songs which I had completely forgotten for many years. But here is a catch which places me in a piquant situation. In some cases, I just remember the tune of a song and not the starting words or in an other way round, I remember the starting words but struggle to get to the tune of the song. Obviously, I have no inkling about the names of the films concerning these songs.

After posting four songs for the day, I suddenly realised that today is 16th november, Roshan’s death anniversary. My original plan was to discuss only Roshan songs and a total of five Roshan songs today. I can do that even now, but that would be an overkill. So I am going to discuss two Roshan songs today.

Manna Dey yet again gets to sing a song for a bit actor (Agha this time). And as usual, Manna Dey gives his best in the song. The song may not have won too many popularity contests those days, but for music aficionadoes, this song remains a Manna Dey classic.
