“Dooj Ka Chaand” (1964) was a Filmasia Production. It was directed by Nitin Bose. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Raj Kumar, Chandrashekhar, Pritibala, B. Saroja Devi, Ratna, Ullhas, Agha, Sulochana, Azra, Prabhat Kumar, Iftekhar, Murad etc in it.
The movie had some nice songs in it. As many as five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. That includes the well known classic Phool gendwa na maaro.
This movie also has a little known song it it which is sung by Asa Singh Mastana, a legendary folk singer of Punjab.
Here is that song from “Dooj Ka Chaand”. What a fantastic rendering of the song !

Yes, it’s really a good philosophical song sung with so much pain by the singer.
Only little info I could find on the net about this singer that he was a popular singer from Punjab, known for lending his voice for the folk songs. Can someone please give more info about this singer? Arunji, Sadanandji, Sudhirji,……..
