Yes, it’s that special day of the year again. It’s our blog’s happy happy birthday. It was born on 19th July 2008, so today it completes 9 years. And we, wherever we are in the world, are definitely not going to let the occasion go by without celebration. Maybe we don’t have cakes and candles, but we have enough blog handles. 🙂 (Ok, admittedly, that was a terrible one!).

“Maang” (1950) was directed by Saghir Usmani for New Light Film production, Bombay. The movie had Zia, Wasti, Mubarak, Ramola, Amar, Pratima, Malhotra, Leela Pande, Basu, Hemlata etc in it. This by now forgotten movie had ten songs in it. Two songs from the movie have been covered in the blog in the past.

The movie had Feroze Khan, Chitra, Jeevankala, Indira, Baby Vidya Rani, Manorama, Ratnamala, Sulochana Chatterjee, Shah Agha, Sunder, Majnoo, Shakeel Noomani, Raj Adeeb, Mintobai, Gani, Mohammed Ali, Geeta, Paro, Julian, B.M.Vyas, Anthny, Bismilla, Mithoo miyaa etc in it.

It is believed that one needs to train hard and later work hard to become anything in life. But in India, people try to avoid hard work and want to succeed overnight. People trying to use “approach” to please higher ups-be they top officials or gods, instead of working to qualify for the job, is common.

In children’s stories, comics etc, people would eat/ drink some stuff that would give them great strength/ supernatural powers.
